DTS Selected By Paramount Pictures

DTS, the developer of audio enhancement technology and surround sound technology, said today that its DTS-HD codec has been selected by Paramount Pictures. The Calabasas-based company said that its codec is being used as the surround sound format for Paramount's UltraViolet movie catalog. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. DTS said that Paramount will deliver its catalog of UltraViolet movies with DTS soundtracks in the second half of 2013. UltraViolet Common File Format (CFF) is the new video licensing system being developed to handle streaming and download of video content to multiple kinds of devices, handling all of the digital rights management for moving and downloading content between different hardware devices.
