Demand Media Buys CoveritLive

Santa Monica-based Demand Media said this morning that it has acquired CoveritLive, a developer of a live blogging platform used to provide real time commentary, reader polling, and questions and answers on live events. Financial terms of the acquisitoin were not disclosed. Demand Media was already a strategic investor in CoveritLive. Demand Media said CoveritLive will become part of its portfolio of social solutions, alongside its community platform PLuck. CoveritLive has been used on sites like People, TMZ, Entertainment Weekly, Variety and the Daily Beast.
