Evolution Robotics Spins Off Retail Products

Pasadena-based Evolution Robotics, a developer of tools and technology for the robotics industry, said today that it is forming a wholly-owned subsidiary to focus on its LaneHawk products for retailers. Evolution Robotics Retail will focus on providing Evolution's object recognition technology to the retail industry. Evolution's LaneHawk product is targeted at retailers for recognizing products in the bottom of grocery carts, and to automatically include those at point of sale. Evolution Robotics is backed by Idealab.
