Flywheel Drops Fares In LA, San Diego To $5 Until April 6th

On-demand, taxi app developer Flywheel, which has been in an intense battle with Uber, Lyft, Sidecar and others in the LA market, said this week that it will offer $5, flat rate rides on its service in Los Angeles and San Diego until April 6th. LA and San Diego are two of the five markets that Flywheel is trying to reach out to new customers, along with Seattle, San Jose, and Sacramento. Flywheel said that its offer will get riders from point A to point B without "waiting endlessly and going out of their way to share a ride with someone else" in the case of its competitors. Flywheel also bragged that it does not do "surge pricing", the technique used by Uber that charges more at peak hours for rides.
