Iteris Wins Automotive OEM

Santa Ana-based Iteris, a developer of lane departure detection technology, reported today that it has scored a win with an un-named, automotive OEM. Iteris said its technology--which is used to alert drivers if they are drifting into another lane while driving--will be integrated into a front camera systems for an OEM, expected to start production in 2011. The win comes through partner Valeo. Iteris currently is offered in Infiniti and Nissan vehicles. Iteris said the new win will brings its total to eight vehicles which offer its systems, from two worldwide OEMs. Iteris' system uses image processing algorithms and onboard cameras to track lane markings, alerting drivers if they start drifting towards another lane.
