Maxwell Technologies Scores $7.01M Battery Contract

San Diego-based Maxwell Technologies reports this morning that it has received a $7.01M contract from the U.S. Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC), to develop advanced energy storage systems for power assist hybrid electric vehicles. USABC is a subsidiary of the United States Council for Automotive Research LLC, a group owned by Chrysler Group LLC, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors and funded by U.S. DOE grants. Maxwell said the firm will lead a team focused on development and integration of advanced capacitor technologies for the project.
