Qualcomm Shows Off Wireless EV Charging At Highway Speeds

San Diego-based Qualcomm has shown off some technology which it says lets electric vehicles (EVs) charge while driving at highway speeds, using its wireless charging technology. According to Qualcomm, its dynamic electric vehicle charging (DEVC) allows electric vehicles to charge at up to 20 kilowatts at highway speeds, using a special track, allowing for what it calls "dynamic charging" while in motion. The demonstration of Qualcomm's technology was in France, at the FABRIC test track, funded by the European Commission. Qualcomm said its technology was used to charge two Renault Kangoo vehicles on that test track.
