RealD: 50 Percent of Disney's Christmas Carol

Los Angeles-based RealD, a developer of 3D movie technology used by movie theaters to project 3D movies, said over the weekend that it delivered 50 percent of the $31M, opening weekend gross for Disney's A Christmas Carol. The firm said it brought nearly $16M of the total box office for the Disney opening. The firm said it now has over 9,000 screens under contract, with 4,000 screens installed in 48 countries. RealD's products are used with digital projectors in theaters to project new 3D movies.
