Report: Activision's Kotick Eyes MySpace

A report today from AllthingsD says that an investor group, which includes Santa Monica-based Activision's Bobby Kotick, is in the last legs of negotiating a deal to acquire MySpace, the beleaguered, once-high flying social network. MySpace--which is now being headed by Mike Jones, and has switched its focus to music and content--has reportedly been shopped by New Corp. to a bevy of buyers, with no deals yet inked. The report said that a number of other bidders have looked at MySpace, including a group led by Jones, former MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe, and music video service Vevo. News Corp. has reportedly been seeking $100M for MySpace.
