Ringo Takes On International Calling Apps

Los Angeles-based Ringo said this morning that it has launched a new, mobile app for iOS, Android, and Windows, specifically for international calling. According to Ringo, the company's calling service does not require the Internet, Wi-Fi, or data, and instead routes the call using a phone call; the company says is rates are "significantly lower" than traditional carriers, starting at $0.003 per minute. Ringo is led by Bhavin Turakhia.
