SDGE: More Than 10,000 EVs On Road In San Diego

San Diego now has more than 10,000 electric vehicles on the road, according to San Diego Gas & Electric. According to SDGE, those vehicles were all sold or leased in its territory--covering San Diego and southern Orange County--since December of 2010. The numbers come from the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative, which also said that there were more than 100,000 plug-in car sales statewide. SDG&E released the figures as part of the runup to an event it is running on September 20th, Electric Vehicle Day - San Diego, where it will demonstrate electric vehicles and promote its programs for electric vehicle installation and charging.
