TowerJazz Wins Chinese Chip Firm

Newport Beach-based TowerJazz, the semiconductor foundry firm, said today that it has been selected by a Chinese chip firm, Southwest Integrated Circuit Design> (SWID), for its SiGe BiCMOS process. TowerJazz will help develop high performance, RF integrated circuits for SWID. The company did not say what volumes or financial impact of the win would be. The new TowerJazz customer is using the firm for manufacturing a transceiver chip for walkie-talkies.
