Uber Launches uberPOOL In LA

On demand ride service Uber said Thursday that it is launching its carpooling service, uberPOOL, in Los Angeles, in an effort to help residents help reduce traffic and pollution in the city. uberPOOL matches up UberX riders, letting them share rides along the way to their destinations, matching similar trips together and offering up lower fares for riders, better fares for drivers, and with a side effect of less traffic and less pollution. According to Uber, Los Angeles is the fourth city to get uberPOOL, which is also available in San Francisco, Paris, and New York City.
