Webtide Acquired By Intalio

Los Angeles-based Webtide, which develops the popular Jetty Application Server for the Java programming language, has been acquired by Intalio. Intalio announced the buy Tuesday morning, but did not disclose financial terms of the buy. Webtide was self-funded, and was headed by Adam Lieber, who has previously been at Gluecode and Mission Ventures. According to Intalio, Webtide will be managed as a fully-owned subsidiary of the company, with Lieber joing the firm as Chief Open Source Officer. Webtide has 10 employees, who are spread across the world, including in the U.S., the United Kingtom, Italy, and the Philippines. The firm was profitable. Jetty is very widely used in web servers and software applications, including HP OpenView, Zimbra, Hadoop, Google AppEngine, Oracle WebLogic, and other enterprise software.
