Xirrus Wins Canadian Event Center

Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, the developer of wireless access points, reported Tuesday that it has deployed its products at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Size and financial terms of the win were not announced. Xirrus, whose access points are designed for providing higher bandwidth and density of coverage, said the deployment covers approximately one million square feet. The center said it selected Xirrus due to the grater range and throughput than competitive access points. Xirrus combines multiple Wi-Fi access points and switching into its product, and appears to have found a niche in high density applications like schools, universities, and conference centers.
