Zillow Accused Of Frat House Culture In Irvine

Online real estate startup Zillow, which operates a major sales center in Irvine, is the target of an employment lawsuit which alleges the company created a "adult frat house culture" at the location. According to the lawsuit, a sales consultant at the company--who was fired in August--faced "repeated sexual overtures" from male supervisors. According to The Recorder, the lawsuit is the third employment lawsuit for Zillow in a month. Zillow set up shop in Irvine in 2012, opening a new office after the acquisition of Irvine's Diverse Solutions' in 2011.

Update: Zillow sent us this statement on the lawsuit as a comment to this story:

Zillow takes any allegations about our work environment very seriously. When this allegation was first made, we immediately investigated these claims and as a result took quick action and terminated a sales employee in our Irvine office. The allegations in the complaint do not reflect Zillow's culture or workplace and are completely inconsistent with our values. We don't tolerate harassment of any kind.

It's incredibly important to us to create and maintain a work environment that is safe, comfortable and inclusive for everyone. Our people are our greatest asset as a company, and we take great pride in our strong culture and reputation as a best place to work.
