Abacus Data Systems Acquired By Providence Equity

La Jolla-based Abacus Data Systems, a developer of software to help law firms manage their practices, has been acquired by private equity investor Providence Equity, the companies announced today. Financial details of the deal were not announced. Abacus said the strategic majority investment by Providence Equity will help it quickly sale up its technology infrastructure. Abacus provides cloud-based, enterprise software used by law firms with case management and other functions. The company is led by Alessandra Lezama.
