Santa Monica-based Activision Publishing said Friday that it has acquired FreeStyleGames, a UK-based video game developer. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. FreeStyleGames develops music-based games, including localized, downloadable content for Activision's popular Guitar Hero franchise. Activision said that FreeStyleGames is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Publishing, and that the firm's management team have all signed long-term employment contracts with Activision. FreeStyleGames will remain based in Leamington Spa, U.K.
