Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor has been selected by Alereon, a fabless semiconductor company developing Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless chipsets. Alereon will use Jazz to develop its integrated Ultra Wideband transceiver for wireless universal serial bus (USB) applications. Jazz will provide high volume silicon germanium BiCMOS chips for Alereon. Jazz has been focusing on wireless applications at its foundry.
