Santa Ana-based Advanced Medical Optics said Tuesday that it has entered into a patent cross-licensing agreement with Alcon. According to the firms, Alcon will pay AMO $31M, and AMO will pay Alcon $10M in the deal. The patent covers technology for lubricious intraocular lens (IOL) inserters and one-piece IOL haptic designs. AMO is a developer of ocular surgery products and devices, as well as laser vision correction systems. AMO said it expects to receive the $21M proceeds in the second quarter of this year.
