Mark Burnett Productions, producer of Survivor and other television reality shows, and America Online yesterday announced their plan to produce a reality show for exclusive broadcast online. The two companies said that Burnett will produce Gold Rush!, a show that will track challengers searching for hidden treasure across the United States. Clues for the show will be placed throughout AOL's network of web sites. Mark Burnett said in a statement that the Internet is about to become the next broadcast network, and that it could become the new primetime, which is why the companies are launching the show.
