Aurrion Acquired by Juniper Networks
Goleta-based Aurrion, a developer of networking semiconductor technology which was spun out of UC Santa Barbara, has been acquired by Juniper Networks, according to Juniper's blog. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Juniper said that Aurrion has developed breakthrough technology in the silicon-photonics area, saying that the startup's technology will help it reduce the cost of the optoelectronic portion of its circuits, helping to match the cost reductions it has been able to achieve in the electronics part of its products.
