BlackLine Sets New CFO, Eyes IPO
In what might be the most demanding CFO position in the area, Los Angeles-based BlackLine said this morning that it has named a new CFO. The company--which develops financial controls and automation software for companies--said it named Mark Partin as its Chief Financial Officer. Partin was most recently CFO of Fiberlink Communications. Partin previously also served as CFO at Headhunter.net (now Careerbuilder.com), seeing the company through startup to IPO, and also served at Arthur Anderson. Former CFO Charles Best becomes Chief Accounting Officer. BlackLine sells its software--used for automating account reconciliation and financial close automation--to CFOs of a long list of large corporations, and was founded by Therese Tucker. The company is rumored to be prepping for an IPO, and Partin's appointment might be part of that process. BlackLine recently posted a job position seeking a "Manager, SEC Reporting" seeking someone to lead filing of an S-1, along with 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings for the company.
