Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, the operator of a network of worldwide Wi-Fi access points, signed two big deals with shopping center operators this morning. Boingo said that it has signed shopping center operator Westfield, to manage and sponsor Wi-Fi at 17 Westfield shopping centers, and, separately, that it will be managing and operating Wi-Fi networks at three malls for mall operator Cafaro. No financial details were released for either deal. Boingo said that the Westfield deal will provide complimentary Wi-Fi access to shoppers, with the first phase of implementation including seven centers. In the Cafaro deal, Boingo will install and operate systems in Virginia, Ohio, and Washington.
