Brain Corporation Launches Robotics OS

San Diego-based Brain Corporation said today that it has launched a new, software operating system aimed at robot application development. According to the company, its new BrainOS provides support for common peripherals, runs on low cost computing hardware, and is aimed at making prototyping and development of robots easier for hobbyists and commercial developers. Brain Corporation also rolled out a robotic kit, The Geekbot Advanced, a two-wheeled robot with camera and gripper, which includes the company's OS running on the embedded Raspberry Pi 2 computer. The company said the kit is being sold through Trossen Robotics for $449.95.
