Broadcom Completes Beceem Buy




Irvine-based Broadcom said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of Beceem Communications, a developer of systems-on-a-chip (SoC) products for the LTE and WiMAX 4G market. The deal was worth $316M, and had originally been announced on October 13th. Beceem was backed by DoCoMo Capital, Global Catalyst Partners, Intel Capital, KTB Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Mitsui & Co., NEC, Samsung Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Walden International, to the tune of around $127M in funding, and was based in Santa Clara, California.
