Los Angeles-based social media startup Buzznet has launched a new web site focused exclusively on celebrities, Celebuzz.com. Buzznet, which is backed by Redpoint, Anthem Ventures, and Interscope, said that it has launched a beta today of its web site, and pulled together bloggers, celebrity photo and news agencies, and others to focus on the world of celebrity news and culture. Buzznet said it has linked into a number of celebrity bloggers and photo agencies for the content, including The Superficial, Just Jared, Go Fug Yourself, Hollywood Tuna, What Would Tyler Durden Do, Socialite LIfe, Celebslam, Gabby Babble, Splash News, Bauer Griffin, INF Daily, and Pacific Coast News. The new web site also allows users to create their own celebrity news items, comment on stories, and create their own profile pages.
