    Buzznet Snags TMZ's Citron


    Hollywood-based Buzznet, the online social media site focused on music and pop culture, has snagged Alan Citron, former general manager of Time Warner's TMZ, the firm said today. Citron will act as head of the what the firm describes as "Special Projects." Citron was also previously at Movielink, the founding president of MusicNet, president of Ticketmaster Online, as well as president of USA Networks iNteractive, in addition to his time at the Los Angeles Times as the business editor for entertainment. The move is a significant one for the startup, which is venture backed by Anthem Ventures, Interscope, and Redpoint Ventures. Buzznet said that Citron will advise on business and editorial strategies to drive greater usage and revenue from the company’s offerings.
