ConjuChem, a biotechnology firm focused on developing medicines based on therapeutics peptides, said today that it has relaunched the company, and is now based in Los Angeles under the management of Patrick Soon-Shiong, M.D. The firm, which was previously based in Montreal, Canada, was acquired by billionaire Soon-Shiong in 2010. ConjuChem said its technology might be applicable to diabetes and HIV. The firm said its technology can be used to create new drugs with similar therapeutic activities but with significantly longer durations of activity and improved safety profiles.
