San Diego-based Cricket Communications, the wireless service provider owned by Leap Wireless, said today along with Kyocera Communications that the firms have introduced the carrier's first Android phone. The firm said the new Sanyo ZIO by Kyocera has been launched on the service, and will retail for $249.99 without a contract. The new Android device features a 3.5 inch WGA touchscreen, 512MB memory, and up to an additional 32GB via microSD. Along with the new Android phone, Cricket said it would launch an all-inclusive, $55 Android service plan for the device, with unlimited talk, text, web browsing, email, and more.
