Fountain Valley-based D-Link, a manufacturer of networking devices, said that it has introduced a new 48-port managed switch with support for Power over Ethernet (PoE). D-Link said that the new device, which is part of its series of xStack switches, are targeted at small and medium sized businesses. Power over Ethernet is a standard which allows power for networking devices to be delivered via Ethernet cables, eliminating the need for separate power supplies. D-Link said its new DES-3052P device is available through its value added resellers and distributors.
