DB Networks Gets $4.5M For Database Security

DB Networks, a developer of a firewall specifically designed to counteract SQL injection and database denial of service attacks on websites and web applications, has raised $4.5M in a funding round. The San Diego company said it raised the Series B round from Khosla Ventures. As part of the funding, Shirish Sathaye of Khosla Ventures joins the company's board of directors. DB Networks said it is developing a security platform which reacts to real-time, database attacks, including SQL injection and other security issues. The firm says its tools are better than traditional database security solutions, in that it automatically learns how applications are expected to behave, and will flag SQL transactions which deviate from those models.
