Dell Technologies Capital Now A Backer Of Cylance

Dell Technologies Capital, a new venture investment fund announced at Dell EMC World on Monday, says it is an investor in Irvine-based Cylance, according to the fund's new website. Dell Technologies Capital--which will conduct venture investments for Dell Technologies as well as its other related businesses--said it will invest $100M annually in startups. The new venture unit is a combination of the venture investment arms of Dell and EMC. The previous venture effort of Dell, Dell Ventures, is an investor in Cylance, and it's likely the listing of Cylance on the new fund's site is a result of that prior investment, although a number of previously undisclosed investments by Dell Technologies Capital appeared on Dell Technologies Capital's portfolio page with the announcement.
