San Diego-based DivX, a developer of media encoding and decoding software, said late Tuesday that it has acquired AnySource Media LLC, a developer of streaming media software which can be used to enable on-demand playback of video on HDTV, Blu-ray disc players, and other consumer electronics devices. DivX said it would pay $7.5M in cash plus up to $7.5M in earnout over three years for AnySource. DivX said the buy would accelerate the firm's development efforts by at least one year, and will add around $1.3M in headcount and integration costs for the remainder of the year. AnySource Media was based in Malvern, Pa.
