DivX Signs Plextor, Frey

San Diego-based DivXNetworks has signed Plextor and Frey Technologies as its latest adopters of its DivX video compression format. Plextor, which provides digital media recording equipment, and Frey Technologies, a personal video recording and home media center company, will offer DivX format hardware capture. Plextor's ConvertX PVR is bundled with Frey Technologies SageTV software to allow consumers to capture broadcast, cable, or satellite TV onto a computer hard drive. The Plextor PX-TV402U model uses SageTV software to allow users to pause, watch, or record live TV.
