San Diego-based DivXNetworks and Cerritos-based ADS Tech have joined in a licensing partnership to provide DivX support in the new ADS Tech Instant VideoMPX USB 2.0 video capture device. ADS will use DivX technology in its new video capture device for Windows XP. The ADS Tech product allows for uncompressed capture of video streams, and conversion to DivX in the bundled video editing software. DivX is licensing its compressed video format to manufacturers of DVD players, portable video players, and handheld devices as a way to support better compression of video content.
