Domain Elite Invests In SMART Medical Systems

Domain Elite, the joint venture between San Diego investor Domain Associates and China's Elite Consulting, said today that it has made an investment in SMART Medical Systems, a developer of endoscopy and colonoscopy products. Domain Elite said it invested $6.5M in SMART Medical, which is headquartered in Israel but has operations in China. Domain Elite said that SMART Medical Sysetms has developed an endoscope specifically for colonoscopy, which uses balloon technology to help uncover hidden, pre-cancerous polyps. Domain Elite was specifically formed by Domain Associates to help bring companies and technology to the Chinese market.
