Eat Club Brings Startup Food Delivery Craze To LA

One of the hottest segments in Silicon Valley over the last few months has been restaurant delivery services, which are delivering gourmet and other meals to local startups, companies, and homes all over the Bay Area. Now, one of those Bay Area startups--Eat Club--is taking that concept to Los Angeles, with the launch of its meal delivery service to Silicon Beach companies. According to Eat Club, it has expanded its coverage to the Los Angeles area, offering up both in-house meals and restaurant delivery to corporate customers, who let their employees select meals using the company's website or mobile app. The company targets companies who want to provide in-house meals to their employees. Eat Club is backed by Trinity Ventures, and disclosed a $10M funding last week--in part, to expand its service to Los Angeles. The company did not say what coverage area it is offering up in the Los Angeles area. Eat Club said that so far, it has delivered 1.5 million meals to 2,000 offices in its current coverage area. The company says that local customers of the company include Scopley, DogVacay, Twenty20, Dollar Shave Club, Tesla Motors, along with others.
