EDF Renewable Energy Launches New Project In Texas

San Diego-based renewable energy project developer EDF Renewable Energy said Tuesday that it has exercised an option to acquire the remaining, 49 percent interest in its Spinning Spur II Wind Project, based in Texas. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. EDF said it acquired the rest of the project from Cielo Wind Power, LP, giving it 100 percent ownership in the wind power project. EDF Renewable Energy said the project is expected to be operational by mid-summer 2014; the project is its third in Texas. EDF has a number of wind projects in Texas, including one which is backed by Google.
