Entropic Ships Chipset

San Diego-based Entropic said yesterday that it has shipped a new version of the firm's digital media chipsets, which are being used by electronics manufacturers for broadband access hardware. The new chipset can be used by telecom, cable, and satellite operators to provide their customers with coax-based premium services, and support the new MOCA 1.1 standard from the Multimedia Over Coax Alliance. Entropic develops chips used for transporting high definition television and multimedia content over coax cabling.
