Epicor, IBM Team on POS Product

Irvine-based Epicor Software has teamed up with IBM on a new point-of-sale product for specialty and department store retailers. Epicor announced the deal Monday morning, saying that its collaborative agreement with IBM includes an offering which will centrally manage and support point-of-sale (POS) hardware and software using IBM's Remote Management Agent (RMA) hardware. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. Epicor's software is used by retailers for managing POS, store inventory, warehousing, and financial systems; the firm's software is being used by such companies as Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor, Zales, and Zumiez.
