Equinix Opens New L.A. Data Center

Colocation provider Equinix announced today that it has opened up a new, $95M data center located in El Segundo, the firm's fourth in the L.A. area. According to Equinix, the expansion of its colocation and network exchange services here is a result of demand from entertainment and digital media companies. The firm said its new, 177,0000 square foot center in El Segundo has a capacity of approximately 3,000 cabinets. Equinix has two other data centers in downtown, and another nearby in El Segundo.
