Evergreen Buys Backyard Sports From Atari

Los Angeles-based private equity investment firm The Evergreen Group has acquired video game franchise Backyard Sports, the investor announced yesterday. According to Evergreen, it acquired Backyard Sports in the recent Atari assets auction, including the registrations, copyrights, patents, game code and all other assets associated with the brand. Evergreen said that Backyard Sports will become part of Epic Gear, one of its portfolio companies. Financial details of the acquisition deal were not announced.
