Los Angeles-based online movie site Fandango said today that it has launched a new application for the popular Facebook social networking web site. Fandango said that its new application allows users to add showtimes and ticketing abilities to their movie-related content. According to the firm, the new application will allow users to invite their Facebook friends to join them at the movies. The new application is based on Facebook's application programming interface (API), which allows any third party company to write software applications that use Facebook's information. Fandango operates an online movie ticketing web site.
