Nirvanix Wins National Geo

San Diego-based Nirvanix, the cloud storage service provider, is powering the backup and archive operations for National Geographic, the firm said today. Nirvanix said that National Geographic is moving its backup and archive of its large, unstructured multi-media files to its network, due to a growing portfolio of files it needs to archive. Financial details of the win were not announced. Nirvanix, which is led by Scott Genereux, offers up a cloud-based storage service which it has been targeting at corporate backup and other corporate uses.
