YayYo Joins Ridesharing Fray In Los Angeles

Los Angeles-based YayYo, a new startup in the ridesharing space, said last week that it has launched its own fleet of vehicles in Los Angles county. YayYo said it specifically launched to counter the daily surge pricing from such services as Uber and Lyft, and that its rides will come from a "professionally trained driver" and such features as onboard security cameras in brand new vehicles. YayYo claims it will be supplying its drivers with new cars, saying its service will include enhanced training, guaranteed pay with benefits, insurance, and a path to employee-ownership for drivers. The company claims that there remains a "significant market opportunity" for ridesharing companies, despite the current dominance of Uber and Lyft.
