Geodelic Rolls Out Clear Channel App for Android

Santa Monica-based Geodelic, the developer of mobile location information applications headed by Rahul Sonnad, has rolled a new mobile application from Clear Channel. According to Clear Channel Airports, the airport advertising arm of advertising giant Clear Channel, it has launched a new FLYsmart application, a free, mobile application for Android which provides information about airports. Clear Channel Airports said the application provides an "ultimate mobile guide" to airport terminals, including gate locations, ATMs, newsstands, restaurants, shops, and other information. Powered by Geodelic's software, the FLYsmart application includes such airports as LAX, SFO, JFK, Chicago Midway, and other airports. The new app also includes ability to track flights at those airports. Clear Channel said a Blackberry version of the application is due later this year; the firms already are supplying an iPhone version of the app. Terms of the financial relationship between Geodelic and Clear Channel were not disclosed. The two had announced the deal in August. Geodelic is backed by Clearstone Venture Partners, MK Capital, and Shasta Ventures.
