Glowpoint Now Known As Oblong

Los Angeles-based Glowpoint, the publicly traded firm which merged with Los Angeles-based Oblong earlier this year, has renamed itself as Oblong, as a complex merger transaction looks to be progressing for the two companies. Glowpoint--which had already changed its trading symbol to OBLG on the NYSE American--said it has changed its name to Oblong Inc., effective today. Oblong is a developer of collaboration software and hardware, and is best known for "spatial computing", its user interface which inspired the user interface in Minority Report. Oblong and Glowpoint merged in October of 2019, and since then the merged company has been switching over to the Oblong name, produts, and trading symbol. Oblong provides its collaboration products to enterprise and other customers; the company's UI was originally developed at the MIT Media Lab.
