HipSwap Launches New Site, Adds Delivery
Los Angeles-based Hipswap, the online person-to-person shopping site headed by Rob Kramer, unveiled its new site today, which Kramer describes as a cross between Craigslist and Pinterest. Hipswap allows users to buy and sell both new and used goods, focused on fashion, via a highly visual interface. The firm--which curates both new and used items for sale from local sellers--also said that it has started offering door-to-door delivery in New York and Los Angeles. The new site allows users to browse through photos of fashion items, including shoes, purses, and clothing, and "favorite" and browse those items in an interface that is reminiscent of Pinterest. Kramer said the site was a reaction to the difficult and non-visual interfaces of eBay and Craigslist. HipSwap is venture backed by Founders Fund, Greycroft Partners, Baroda Ventures, Broadbeach Ventures, and angels.
