Hulu, the online video service which is a joint venture of NBC Universal and News Corp., saw a big bump in viewership, bringing it into the top 5 video sites, according to the latest traffic rankings from comScore. According to comScore's Video Metrix data from February, Hulu climbed into the number 4 position in terms of viewers in the U.S., after extensive exposure from the firm's Super Bowl ad. According to comScore, Hulu served up 332.5 million videos in February, or 2.5 percent of the videos served during the month in the U.S.. Google and its YouTube site still led viewership, with over 40 percent of videos viewed in February. Hulu also saw a big boost in unique viewers, to 34.7 million viewers, a 42 percent increase from January. Hulu is backed by $100M in private equity from Providence Equity Partners.
